Local Havant Borough Council Elections

UKIP are always looking for candidates to stand in the Havant Borough Council elections.  There is no charge to stand in the elections, so if you would like to the opportunitity to represent residents in Havant and gain an excellent understanding of the operation of the Council and influence change, please do contact our Chairman for a discussion.  Our principle local policies are below.

Our message is "If you want CHANGE, change your way of VOTING and vote UKIP".

Our principle policy items for local elections are:

  • UKIP Havant local election candidates are opposed to the Conservatives cutting council services while at the same time hiking Council Tax for Havant Residents by 20% over the past four years.  We demand value for money.
  • Havant has some wards that are classified as some of the most income and health deprived areas in the country and we believe it is wrong to increase Council Tax by so much while people are struggling to live with little or no wage increases, while suffering increasing job insecurity and zero-hours contracts.
  • UKIP object to intended mass house building planned to take place in the Havant Borough specifically in the Havant/Emsworth gap, Bedhampton and Hayling Island where all available green fields are being earmarked for development to met the Conservative's target of a minimum of 500 new house builds every year.  The Conservative councillors are driving their own housing targets.
  • UKIP want a fairer Britain with more care and compassion towards the less fortunate; it should NOT be all about profit for private companies.
